Divided Stripes

The American flag is a symbol — shorthand for “America.”

But it has increasingly become a divisive symbol. (Or has it?)

We’re starting a cross country journey to discover how Americans of all stripes see their flag.

And we’re asking one simple question: “What does the flag mean to you?”
We’re interviewing Americans of diverse backgrounds to get their insights and feelings about our national symbol.

Our only agenda is an honest rendering of what Americans think. And an understanding of where there is common ground… and where there is division.

If you would like to be film interviewed for our documentary, please tell us a bit about yourself in the boxes below. We’ll be choosing people to interview in the coming weeks.

  • In a few sentences, tell us a bit about yourself and how you self-identify. Example: political party, job, sexual orientation, faith community, race, military veteran, immigrant, gender, ordinary American, activist — how would you describe yourself to a stranger.
